Are You Ready?

Nothing new here, these truths are out there. I find them while out running.

He Was.

And Is.

And is to Come.

He was there before the planets were formed. He is the Alpha.

He IS. He lives still. After Jesus accomplished His will, he left us a gift.-With His Holy Spirit, we have a companion for right now; and ever present Help in times of trouble. We have a Light to travel with us in this world.

He is to Come. Jesus will return. In His Mercy, He is allowing all the ability to choose His give of love and grace.

And He will return to save all those who choose Him. He has the final say.

Are you ready?

“Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.” Revelation 4:8

Surrounded

“It may look like I’m surrounded, but I’m surrounded by You”-Surrounded (This is How I Fight My Battles)   by Michael W. Smith

I wonder what all those politicians were thinking when they were surrounded? They showed up to carry out their essential duties and became surrounded.

By chaos, violence, fear.

I am an essential worker and tasked to perform my essential duties. Since the pandemic began, I’ve been clothing myself in the “Armor of God” -Relying heavily on Ephesians  6:10-18, I take up this sword of the Spirit and pray throughout the daily battles against this invisible enemy for encouragement, protection and strength.

The Armor of God (Eph 6:10-18)

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

What if these same essential workers all showed up and understood where their protection truly comes from? What they truly are surrounded by?  What if every one of them became warriors of prayer? What if we all took up these “weapons?”

Truly, there might just be hope.

“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have the divine power to demolish strongholds” 2 Corinthians 10:4

REST

TRW=Todays running wisdom (I love acronyms!)

“All truths are easy to understand once they’ve been discovered. The point is to discover them”-Galileo

Nothing new here, these truths are out there. I just seem to find them while out running.

The value of rest.

“I can make it to the stop light and then I’ll walk the last 400 meters  home,” I told myself.

But the light stopped me. I had to rest, wait for traffic and then resume when the light changed. Yet after that rest at the light, I was refreshed! I ran the rest of the way home. And then continued to do intervals on the hill around the corner for another 10 minutes!

REST — It  might just be the key to finding the strength to pursue what’s around the corner.

For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.”  Isaiah 30:15
